We are Clive and Helen, and Memphis Maus is the name we have chosen to represent our small home based cattery specialising in the Egyptian Mau. We are based in Bromley which borders south east London and Kent.

As cat lovers we decided to take our interest to the next level and set out to identify a pedigree type that we would want to show and breed. Seeing a feature on the Mau in one of the cat magazines, and subsequently talking to a number of Mau owners, we were quickly convinced that the Egyptian Mau was the breed for us.

After completing our research, which included a visit to the Egyptian Mau Club Show, our minds were made up. Our first girl, a silver Mau called Serekh Cleopatra (Cleo), bred by Gillian Eccles, was brought home in April 2007.

We are members of the Egyptian Mau Club. The "Memphis" breeder prefix is registered with the Governing Council of the Cat Fancy (GCCF)

Why Memphis?  It's the name that was given to the ancient capital of Egypt ...and Helen liked it!
